7/24/2008 - "I was born in Elwood"
Joliet, Illinois... "I was born in Elwood"
That was Will County Executive Larry Walsh's response contending that he does not practice Chicago-style politics as recounted in today's Joliet Herald News.
We concede the point that Mr. Walsh was born in Elwood. We do not concede its relevance to the matters at hand.
7/21/2008 - Walsh Running Will County the Chicago Way: Connected Developer, Political Donor Poised to get south Joliet Intermodal Deal Joliet, Illinois... Will County Executive Larry Walsh is trying to play a fast one on Will County families.
Today on WJOL's "Scott Slocum Show", Walsh expressed some concerns about the proposed intermodal development in south Joliet by Centerpoint Properties. The reality is that Walsh has already signed off on the deal.
7/9/2008 - IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Larry Walsh--Remind You of Anyone?
Joliet, Illinois... The takeaway from the story below has nothing to do with the relative merits of the county providing some grant funding to the Will County Historical Society.
Rather, it has everything to do with a machine politician who over-promised with other people's money and under-delivered to the detriment of those well-intentioned persons and organizations that relied on the promise to deliver.
7/1/2008 - Larry Walsh: The Todd Stroger of Will County
Joliet, Illinois... Today, the focus of the region is on Chicago as it officially becomes the city with the highest sales tax in the nation (10.25%) thanks to Cook County Board President Todd Stroger and his Democrat machine friends.
But Will County residents should hesitate to celebrate. While Todd Stroger continues to turn Cook County into a high-tax, low-growth land of economic desolation that may benefit collar counties like Will; Will County Executive Larry Walsh has embarked upon the same economic policies of malaise.
